The Many Sides of You

There are so many sides to a person. You think you know someone until you are surprised when you witness something you never noticed before. A lot of the time we see just the surface or the top layer of an individual. We assume that there is nothing else beneath the surface. That is us being narrow minded. We have to start to look beyond the surface. What are you made of? If a person met you for the first time would they be able to see all of you? Most of the time we give off what we think people want to see. When people say just be yourself. You get scared that they won't like the real you. There are so many aspects of you. Which one are you more willing to portray? Different circumstances bring different sides of a persons personality. When you are at work it is the professional you. When you are at a party is the party you? When you are with family it is the family you. When you are with your partner it is the loving you. When you are with your kids same thing. We are who we are at the moment of demonstration. The person that is required is the persona we reciprocate at that particular time. Once your role is set and you are more comfortable with yourself and the crowd. All of these personas come together in the make up of you. I am a mother, a wife, a sister, a daughter, a friend, an associate, a writer, a caterer, a consultant, a listener, a giver and much more. I love poetry. I love to see the good in a bad situation. Sometimes it is a lot harder to do, but I try anyway. How I see the world reflects my attitude and my response to life. I can not show you how far I go in one painting or in one book. To be able to express my depth is for you to actually see how I live and how I think. Not by you watching me. The only way anyone would be able to do that is to be inside me. Seeing the actual functionality of my logic. I can explain myself all day, but you will still only get a small sliver of the many parts that make me, me.  Same with you. Some may think you are shallow because they never thought to look deeper. Then they accidentally saw you giving a blanket or food to someone in need of the food or blanket. The entire dynamic of you now has change for that person. They now know there is more to you then what they thought previously. What makes us see the world in the way we see the world could be from our up bringing. What we were exposed too or sheltered from. Again all of us have a heart. Some are buried beneath pain or fear. But we all have one. The most sinister has cried from time to time. There is more to each one of us then what meets the eye.
